| I have been toying with the idea of getting a Storm. I have held them and like the look and feel. Are these good guns? I am not sure which one I would get. I have pistols chambered in.40 so I thought the .40 would be a good choice but I would also like to increase capacity. Give me ya'lls opinion. |

The CX4 is my favorite gun. I have a 40, but will soon buy the 45, just wish it held more than 8 rounds. I bought the CX4 about 5 months ago for $600 that come with the gun (in a .40), 2 mags (92 series, which are 11 rounders, 12s thru beretta are also avilable), the top side and bottoe rails, the vertical grip, the CX4 sling, and the hard case. I ran about 500 rounds thru it and had one major complaint, The iron sights suck. Its like the ar15 sights with the rear having a long and short appature. BUT I for the life of me could not see thru it comfortably. To make matters worse there is next to no differnece from the long to short appature in terms of diameter. Some people hog out the short hole with a drill and it makes it better. Me I just used my employee discount and bought a EOtech 552 for $180. BINGO, problem solved. Ran another 500-600 rounds thru it. Still no issues what so ever. I even pass the ugn off to people at the range looking dumbfounded at it. They all agree its a great gun. But having the 92 series I wanted more rounds but relibaly. So I researched and found the PX4 conversion kit at trigger fin for $33 IN STOCK!!! This is hard to do since most people including Beretta are out of the mag release. There were some old CX4s that suffered from a mag drop free issue (you have to pull the mag out since it gets hung the last inch or so exiting the mag well). After getting the kit and converting over, I tired it out. The mag dropped free. YEAH!!!! Now the total cost of the gun was around $850 or so. Shot another 500 rounds and still great. I have since purchased a Streamlight TLR1 (actually got it for my XD45C, but it fits the storm) and now I use this as the HD go to weapon (I added the Barrel shroud that I got from Moerse Lekker since the barrel looked funny witht he light on there and thie hugh gap it greated. The shroud just fits it nice. The CX4 is more compact, lighter, and I can manuver with it easier than I can my 870P. I recommend this gun to ANYONE. Any caliber will do great but I choose the 40 since I have another XD in a 40 as well and I do not like the 9mm. But I will have a 45 here SOON. I have bought 8 17 rounds PX4 factory Beretta mags and none have failed to perform. So 136 rounds on hand is more than adiquate. If not the stipper clips on the AR will be deployed (21 mags and 2000+ rounds on clips). Here she is. Nothing like going to the range and seeing peoples face when it comes out. I had a person say, WOW I thought that was a pellet gun, another asked if it was a airsoft. Guess there are still some out there who have never seen it. http://home.comcast.net/~utspoolup/resized_and_revised_cx4.JPG And with everything on it still it fits the factory Beretta case. NICE. http://home.comcast.net/~utspoolup/resized_and_revised_cx4_2.JPG |

I work for L3 have for the last 6 years. They allow employees to buy 1 per calander year at a discounted rate. This year I am going to get a 557 FTS for the AR. They have not given a price but I anticipate $700. Its nice working for big companys. We got a GM, Dell, firestone, and a few other discounts. Only thing that sucks, is that it has to ship from ann arbor MI and if there is none there you have to wait, VS just going to local gun shop and picking one up (plus you need to pay shipping but at that price who is going to complain). They also offer a GREAT referal program, for every person you get hired they give the employee $3,000 (yes 3K) afer 60 days of work, but family do not apply for this and the new hire must have used theemplyees name on both the online application form and again at singing up. If they skip one they will not honor it. I believe the employee price on the 552 has jumped to 230 recently. I could be wrong on that however. |

I have a 9mm (92 magazine setup) CX4. Haven't shot it much since I got it... but it ran great and was STUPID accurate when I did shoot it. I bought three MecGar 20 round magazines, and one ProMag (just to check it out). All of the magazines work fine. The ProMag functions fine. I have a couple of their magazines for a couple other guns, and they all work fine. I intend to eventually get around to shooting it in a Tactical Carbine match sometime... went with 9mm since my sidearm is also 9mm. Good little plinking gun. Should be good for the carbine matches since it can put holes in targets accurately. It's reliable, simple to use, easy to break down, and pretty durable. |
| Where are they located and what qualifications do they require for employment. I have worked for Cessna Aircraft Co. for the Last 10 years but when my wife graduates I am thinking about leaving. H&K has just set up shop in the Industrial park where I work so I am thinking of looking there. I hear they give good employee discounts. |
This is one of the nicest setups I have seen. |
| Thanks Ganus, but being this is the favorite gun that I own, I dont mind spending a little more on it. The AR probally feel neglected, but hopefully not for long... just need to fix a few more things and it will be getting fixed up too. But I am all for the CX4. Like I mentioned before if they get some higher than 8 rounds capacity mags for the 45 (hell 13 like my XD would be better), I would buy one of those as well. Next carbines I will probally be however is a Marlin 1894 in 44mag and a 1895 in 45/70. |

I've been thinking about it for over a year.... I've called all the distributors around me getting prices, and I just haven't given the Go Code on the order... I have a $500 referral bonus and a $250 side job check that I was gonna use without dipping into the "real" money. I have a 93fs and a boatload of mags, so I thought that would be really cool to get the 92 9mm model... |

i bought one a few years ago. decent gun, accurate, reliable with baretta mags <soso with aftermarket> fairly tough. i sold it last year and really haven't missed it. it was a fun plinker but i have a MPA971 carbine that is TONS more fun and uses a 71rnd drum. it was about the same price. all in all the storm is a decent gun for the money once you get past the ungodly price of the accesories. |
What kind of scope is that?? |
Nice setup |
| I was all set to sell my .45 version- then I saw this thread. I hated the sights on the storm as it came from the factory. Bought a top rail, popped an eotech in a Larue mount on top - and I think I'm in love. Now I have to figure out what optic to put on the AR that I took the Eotech off of. The Beretta is my new closet gun. |
THX The aimpoint and Larue stuff is actually for my AR, but I just threw them on there for looks. |
Singlepoint OEG. It cowitnesses ....er....kinda. |
