I did a search so I hope this isn't a dupe: www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/FAProdView?model=5814&return=Y |

Cool. I know they're not popular around here, but I like my Mini. It's a blast to shoot and with decent mags it's as reliable as anything I own. Not to steer off-topic, but I have the "ranch rifle" with the crappy flip-up rear sight. Does anyone know how I can put the older style rear sight on it? Or the new adjustable sight? Any aftermarket sights out there? |

I once had a mini-30 but sold it off and miss it. I always enjoyed the design of the Mini-14/30. Williams Ruger Ranch Rifle Peep, On Sale to Boot! |

Im glad Ruger is further developing the Mini 14. I sold both of my GB's but I miss them dearly...In an AR world, its tough to support another system/caliber. Why spend 40.00 on 1 20 round magazine when I can have a 30 round AR mag for 11.00? Spare parts for the Mini 14? Forget it...I loved mine, but it was economics. I still miss them, especially my "new" Stainless GB Carbine. In addition to the 6.8 Mini 14, Ruger also debuted new GB models with a M4 style telestock and other neat features. Some publication had pictures of them at the SHOT show. IIRC, there were going to be 4 new GB models. The ones they pictured are the coolest Mini's I have ever seen. |

There is an article about adapting an M1 carbine rear sight posted in the Mini-14 section of Perfectunion.com Dennis Jenkins Quoted: Cool. I know they're not popular around here, but I like my Mini. Post pics If they were smart they'd bring back the factory folder. |

The pics that I saw were in a recent gun rag and I wouldn't even begin to know where to locate them. It was a picture of 4 "new" GB's of various configurations. One common feature was a synthetic stock w/ M4 style tele stock and top rail. They had different barrel lenghts 16 and 19 in and various optics/accessories installed. Sadly, Ruger acts like they don't offer a LE line, but they do...Call and bug 'em about it. I loved doing that when I had my Mini's. I would tell them about my new GB carbine and ask them questions. They would tell me I didn't have one, since they are LE/gov only. Fuckers. The GB has always been LE only, but there are ways of defeating this. Ask anyone who has a box of Ranger ammo. Once they start being produced, a few will sneak out one way or another. As far as the original Ruger folder...its certainly A-team cool, but its the most uncomfortable/wobbly and useless folder this side of an AK. It gets an A for cool and an F for function. For practicality/body armor, the telestock reigns supreme. |
Yeah, they added ears. I think Ruger's starting to listen to its customers Actually they have been very good at listening to Cowboy Action Shooters. I'm glad they are re-inventing their other lines as well. |
I put the front sight/flash suppressor from Choate on mine. It may not have made the rifle more accurate, but it sure as hell made my aim better with that type of sight vs the blade that was on it. The Choate one has the ears: ![]() so I think this is a good move on Ruger's part. If I had it to do over again, I would have used this one from Choate instead of the other one: ![]() It's called the M14 Look-a-like and it would look more like my M14S. If you are interested, go to www.riflestock.com Do a keyword search using the word "mini". Some good stuff. |
Uh i think you meant to say flash hider, duh.
