Anyone know how the lower handguard comes off of these things???  All I can figure is the gas block has to be moved out of the way which involves removing a pin.  I have tried hammering out the pin but so far it doesn't want to move.  Would it happen to be a taper pin??  I've tried hammering both ways but I don't want to use a BFH and permanently damage something.

ETA:  Ok, I got the pin out.  Its not tapered.  I got the gas block far enough forward to get the lower hanguard off.  The amount of that thick paint they put on them though made it a little tough.  It looks like they get painted, then they press in a rivet that holds the rear of the handuard in place.

Now, for another.  Does anyone have any clue if the barrel is threaded or pressed in like an AK?   I knocked a pin out that appeared to be holding it in place.  Indications so far is leading me to believe that its pressed in.  But, thats just speculation.

What you up to, building one?  There is some good info on gunboards about a vz58 build. I bought a semi and was doing some research, lot of good info there.

I'm not really sure what I am going to do yet.  I'd like to build one, but am just in the curiosity stages right now.  I'm just trying to figure out the schematics for the most part.
