I own an older P14-.45 it’s a steel framed single action. For me it’s been a very reliable and accurate weapon. The wider grip fills my hand very nicely and having 14+1 rounds of .45acp is great too. But. I hear a lot of people are having problems with Para's mostly with the LDA's. Is this because they have so much of the slide rail machined away? Also some of the carry models are aluminum alloy. Would this exacerbate the problem or even be a problem in a single action? The reason I ask is because I'm considering either a P14-.45 Single action LTD or a LDA version of the same to add to my collection. If the LDA isn’t as bad as it’s made out to be I’ll got with it over the Single action. |

I have an older P14.45 LDA and it has been great. Granted, I don't abuse it or shoot it to death, but the pistol itself has been 100% reliable for me. I've been thinking about adding a single action P14.45 to my collection, since this one has been so great. I owned a P18.9 LDA in the past and it was great as well. Maybe I've just has good luck... i dunno. ~Icarus |
| I have a P12-45 and it has FTFs quite a bit. It doesn`t lock back after the last round is fired. It`s ok for fun but I would never take it more seriously than that. My Glock G22 on the other hand has NEVER has any kind of problems and it`s probably been shot more than anyother gun I own. |

I would be willing to bet that the problems you are having are magazine related. FTFeed and no lock back, I'd definitely check out different mags before I passed judgment on the pistol. I accidentally used a P16-40 magazine one time and I had nothing but FTF and bolt hold back issues until i realized what was happening. ~Icarus
