I was wondering how hard it is to get a receiver for a CETME? Because I saw a CETME parts kit for $180 in Shotgun News and might buy the kit. It has everything except a receiver and magazine. Are those hard to find for CETME? And where can I get a Receiver for them at? Got any links? And where could I get CETME mags. Since I read on a sight that HK mags don't lock into place fully on a CETME rifle. Any info would be appriciated.

Century Arms has CETME receivers.  both Stamped and Cast SS ( G3 also).  both are workable, but may need tweaking.  i have heard that the cast ones go together pretty nicely, though.  alot of guys are useing JLD PTR91 receviers (HK G3 clone).  the magazines are available at mumerous places for between $10-$20.  most kits assemlbed on G3 receivers  can use the cheaper G3 mags.  you may be able to use the G3 mag release (especially if you use a G3 receiver).  if you are n the fence i would jump on the parts now, because their will be no more.  you can use HK, or fit Hk parts, for almost any future repair that you might need.

+1 for the above, Receivers from best to least...JLD Cai cast SS, stamped. Some of the SW receivers are not bad either. Get the kit with a new barrel, also may want to get a new locking piece and bolt head, while they are still available. These are Cetme specific, G3 couterparts will not work properly. However other G3 parts interchange. www.robertrtg.com has a parts compatiblity chart of G3 vs Cetme parts.

Yeah I will make sure that I buy that kit asap. And thanks guys for the info. When I finally do get that kit I will put G3 smooth wide handguards on it two and also a black plastic buttstock to make it look like a HK 91.

Don't Cetme/G3 builds require welding?

They don't snap and screw together. If you're prepared for this, great, if not, you should be made aware.

I'd go with the JLD receiver, myself.

Cope's has HK mags for $1.20.
