http://barney.gonzaga.edu/~skerber1/xcr.jpg Here is mine on New Years Eve outside of Boise, ID. About 700-800 rounds through it of M193, Wolf, and mostly my reloads without one problem. Martens, who chopped your barrel and pinned the FH, I have been thinking about doing that on mine. |
|
Harris and CO outfitters in Rolla, MO. I think it was $50 out the door and I brought in a stripped gun. He will need your bolt and carrier as well as the barrel to get it done. I was amazed at how much better the gun felt removing just that little bit of barrel. It put the center of balance a lot closer to the center of the gun. Keep the pics coming!!! |
I have an EOTech on mine and it sits too high for my tastes. I think I'm going to try a Trijicon TriPower on it. |
Thanks Thule. I'm going to go with an Aimpoint CompM3 |
YMMV but with the AR sights I think the XCR is perfect. Better cheek weld then the AR. Mostly because with an AR I tilt my head over too the right. With the XCR there is no head tilting. |
|
I agree that AR sights on the XCR work quite well. I used to have my scope mounted 1/4 off the rail and I could get an extremely tight cheek weld. When I added the BUIS's I had to raise the scope and found it was actually better a little higher, especially with bulky coats and or vests on. It just falls into place comfortably with no searching. I index my nose on the rear of the receiver and go. An Eotech and/or any 30 mm tube scope with a 3/4 inch tall base (Aimpoint, SPOT,etc) should be almost perfectly co witnessed with the irons, at least from my experiences. |
| I just talked to RA, they are behind on getting my bolt and trigger parts back to me. Anyway, they gave me some updates, the 6.8 should be here soon followed by the 7.62x39. They are still looking for a mag manufacturer. They are also working on their own design folding/collapsable stock for the XCR. The guess was maybe 6 months. They are also still working on the .308 version, no word on what other calibers it will be able to use. |
|
No offense but the 18 month thing is pretty optimistic, The XCR is worth trying and if you don't like it you can sell it very easily. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/98/DCP_1607a.jpg |

.Also you WILL like the XCR i have about 1000 rounds through both of mine and i like it. |

Wait, I'm confused now... By "12 Medium Barrel" are you saying you have the 12" XCR barrel? Have they finally been produced? |
Great pic, but give us a silencer-less profile pic. |
Does that stock fold? If so, do you happen to have a pic with it folded? When extended, what is the LOP? |
Yes it folds. LOP is 13" B. |
Thanks for the info and pic guys. One last question, is it shootable with the stock folded? Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like there is not much room to get your trigger finger in there for righties? |
It is very shootable and works great if you want to do an A-Team impression. |

Here are the requested pics: Folded Stock -w- can Stock open no can -w- Stock Barrel comparison |
Is that a factory SBR barrel or did you have one cut down? |
How else are you supposed to shoot off 80-100 rounds from a 30 round mag and still not hit anybody?
|
223Rem, The XCR doesn't use the buffer, but can use an adapter allowing you to use any AR15 stock. I don't believe MDD bought his XCR with the adapter, although you can definitely order them that way. That's what I'll be doing, since I'll be putting a UBR on it. :) B. |
My dealer ordered it from the factory this way. www.robarm.com/XCR_Stocks.htm |
Gotcha MadDog. It's great the weapon system is so versatile. I can't wait for the weather to clear up (Icy roads on way to range) so I can test my XCR out. |
