I'm trying to decide what to go with on my new AR. EoTech, Aimpoint, Trijicon, etc. I'd like to know what you guys use and why.

master your irons first, I mean get damn good at range.

then try them out, I can't stand aimpoints, but like eotechs, many others are the opposite.  it's a personal thing that only you can really decide.

I've got the iron sights down, I'm a recently discharged 19D Scout. I've used a few of the sights but I want other peoples input, their likes and dislikes and so forth.

excellent, former 19D here too.

honestly see if someone in your hometown forum can help you out by letting you try a few different types of optics, put some lead downrange with them and decide what fits you best.  I personally HATED the issue M68 but dig the eotech, if you really like the 68 then you'll be fine with an aimpoint.  either way it's good to try them all.

I use an Aimpoint.

If you have a lot of cash laying around, S&B Short Dot. Guy I know has one on his SR-25 cabrine. Good lord. That is a piece of glass.

former 12b I prefer the eotech 1 moa dot over a 4 or 5 moa dot on the aimpoints also like the retcale pattern and for CQB put it out near the fron site at less than 10 meters just put the target in the box don't worry about where the reticle is.

my 3 Eotechs have all been flawless and I mounted one on my 375 H&H no problems

but in reality it depends on what you want to do with it!!!

target work past 200: meters trijicon cause of the magnifacation

I hated the m68 aswell I have used the trijicon before and found it to be quite good but don't own one

you can get 2 eotechs for that price

I have both Aimpoint and EOTech.

My Aimpoint is mainly used outdoors and my EOTech indoors/ close ranges.

Try them both or others first to see if you like the reticle, field of view, brightness and controls.
