Last I heard FN Herstal was awarded the SCAR contract with SOCOM and was set to deliver 1,800 rifles (not a lot) by January of 06'. As for civilian sales we'll have to wait until SHOT 07' or later to find out when they'll be available on the US civilian market if at all. A lot of rumors, but remember the weapon system is brand new even newer than the FN FNS2000 or PS-90 and look how long those took to reach the civilian market. The rumors I have heard is that the SCAR L will be made available if at all before the SCAR H, but those are just rumors and could be total BS. |
