Would the military give out 5.56 to the people to defend themselves? Or would they horde it and we'd have to loot gun stores for it.

They would horde it. The question is why are you not hording your own supply? Or do you figure the fire fight with the other looters as more sporting? |

I wouldn't care if they were giving it out. I don't have a .223 in the first place. I also would very politely keep as far away from any military/police presence as possible. Things tend to get nutty in a situation like this and the authorities would have their hands full. They don't need the pressure of deciding who should and who shouldn't have guns. Me and my guns will just be playing low-key and wishing the military/industrial complex well from afar. |
With they way the power and authority figures view with such mistrust and contempt toward the common citizen? Is this a serious question? I wish this country were still in a state of being where this really could be a serious question for serious discussion. Thanks for asking though  |

Depends on how things go down, most likely you'll find guns & gear and ammo laying around in a worse case senerio. I keep itleast 8000+ rounds on hand at any giving time, also rotate by using oldest ammunition first under normal circumstances,like gun ranges etc. TG |
Where the hell were you during Katrina? FEMA will give you a $2000 debit card and you'll have to get off your lazy ass and go out and buy your own. Sheesh. Americans have become so lazy. |

Yeah right. And looting a gun store would be the LAST thing I'd ever do in a SHTF situation. My idea would be to barter with the owners. Water, MREs, a secure, remote location to shack up in return for guns n ammo. Looting a gun store....You're just asking for a Darwin Award on that one..... |
+1, if anything, they would be ordered to take your ammo and guns away
