Is there an older thread that has reviews/opinions about the Kel-Tech SU16?

Does anyone have one?  Pros/cons?

They are certainly ugly, but are they accurate?  Reliable?  Fun?

I own one of the first SU16s made.

They are fun, reliable, more accurate than a ruger and take AR mags.

Get one, you will like it.

Front site sux, wont hold zero. its plastic, not a SHTF gun, 3-4 moa accurate.

Toy or Trunk gun at best.

The plastic will break at cold temps.

YMMV

Is this from personal experience, or from other people?

How do you know the plastic will break at cold temperatures?

I have owned on for over a year.  Close to 2,000 rounds through it without a hitch.  Most of it Wolf as I was trying to see how robust it was.  There are a few sites for these.  One guy ran a torture test at the range.  Got the barrel real hot, broke through some ice in a puddle and threw the riflee into it.  Let it cool down, took it out, blew the water out of the barrel and kept shooting.  Rifle performed flawlessly.  Very easy to clean as no gasses get to the bolt.

Great customer service and guarantee.  The models with the shorter heavier barrels retain accuracy better as they heat up.

Yeah, where's that vid of a guy blasting 100(?) rounds with his in the snow then breaking ice with the stock and throwing the rifle in the water below to cool it off?

Personal experience. My FIL has one, took it to the range (AK winter) got cold and the handguard broke. It got bumped on the bench (not slammed) and it broke. Like I said, range toy at best. The front sight (plastic red one) would not stay in place. I dont like guns with plastic parts, too cold here,. I will only use it on the stocks to keep from freezing my face to it.
