| OK, I am curious on how to transfer a firearm properly to a friend of mine. Do I just need to write out a bill of sale, and if so, what needs to be on there? Any info would be appreciated. |

As long as your friend lives in the same state and neither of you live in Commieville, the proper way to transfer a firearm is to hold it with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, extend your arm, and when you friend grasps the firearm, release your grip. If you want something to show the cops when your ex-gun gets used in a crime, include the serial number on your bill of sale and keep a copy. |
| John is right. According to Federal law all two residents of the same state have to do is the seller needs to be reasonably sure the purchaser isn't a restricted person, ie., a convicted felon. If not, do as John said. Though South Carolina may have other regulations beyond the Fed. law. |
