CDNN has cheap scopes for my SKS that includes, mount, scope and rings for $35..

LINK TO SCOPE

Are these scopes wortha  damm. I want to use the scope for hog hunting and possibly  deer hunting.

Any experience or thought son these scopes are appreciated.

I tried something similar to that on mine, and it was pure D Junk. I also was doing it for how hunting, and the best thing I found was a shell deflector, and a tasco 3-9x40 cheap, and it work good enough. I'v taken a few hogs with that settup, even at night

Someday, someone will make a good Scout scope mount for the SKS, until then, all the ones I've seen cover up the stripper clip guide, making quick reloading impossible.  Aside from that, even the best of them are problematic as concerns stability and quality of optics.

Unless you own an OEM Chinese SKS with factory detachable mag, you are SOL for now.

Forget the mount that replaces the receiver cover...its pure trash. Wiggles so badly you'll never hit your target.

The only SKS mount that works is the Choate machine & Tool mount that requires you to drill and tap the left side of the receiver. Add a red dot sight and it is near perfection for close-up SHTF.

You can also get a Lyman reciever peep type sight and attach it to the rear of your reciever. I did this to mine and it works great. It is not a scope my my eyes really appreciate peep sights and mounted where it is it acts a lot like the rear aperature on an AR type rifle. Only downside is I have to slide the sight out of the mount to remove the rear cover but that isn't really any problem at all.

Forget about a scope and install a Williams SKS rear peep sight.  It makes a HUGE difference in usability, increasing both speed and accuracy significantly for most folks.  They accept all of the standard Williams screw-in apertures, so you can go smaller if you want.

You should still be able to buy the rear sight separately, but they are now bundling it with their "FireSight" front sight, which I'm not a huge fan of.

At the present, I think most SKSs would benefit greatly from this rear sight:www.tech-sights.com/.

This site, www.simonov.net, reviews a number of scopes, mounts and  other items for the SKS.  A bit dated, but essential reading for the SKS owner nevertheless.

The problem with this is that you have to remove and reinstall the sight every time you need to clean the rifle.  It's the same problem with most SKS scope mounts.  The Williams sight improves the SKS's usability dramatically and doesn't interfere with stripper-clip loading or with removal of the receiver cover for cleaning.  For that reason, it's hard to beat.

You are correct in that removing the sight is required to completely strip down the SKS.  However, such a complete tear-down is not necessary every time the rifle is cleaned, assuming one uses non-corrosive ammo.  Given the increased sight radius,  the tech-sight's capability to utilize many of the different AR rear sight apertures, and ease of windage adjustment, I feel the trade-off to be worth it.  As always, YMMV.
