I have a VZ-24 Mauser built in 1937 that my grandfather sporterized a LONG time ago. He gave it to me when I turned 16. I want to have it rebarreled/rechambered for .30-06 and reblued. I want to keep the stock that is on it now but the barrel channel will need to be smoothed out since it is currently cut for a Mauser step barrel. Any recommendations for a smith that can do a job worthy of an heirloom? |

Wilson Arms makes Mauser 98 military step barrels in .30-06, available from Brownells. For an excellent gunsmith contact: Ronnie Morris Match Service Works 422 Maple St. Madison, TN 37115 615-868-4567 [email protected] |
I saw those but I would rather have a standard tapered barrel. Just personal preference. |
| Try E R Shaw. The prices are fair and the reputation seems to be good. |
