I know there is a gun Blue Book but I do not have one yet.  I have found a Springfield 1903 30-06 for sale at a pawn shop.  Its $300.  Stock needs work but the action is okay.  Barrel is in decent shape.  Shows condition of being used considering its age.  I do not have the sieral number.  Any comments would be appreciated.

Unless the S/N is in the range of brittle actions, $300 is a damn good price, IMO. They sell for $450 & up at local gun shows.

If it is in the "bad" S/N range, you may have wasted $300. Time to find some good intel on the range you need to avoid. Maybe CMP web site? SA Collectors Assoc. web site?

Good luck!
