That is a tad fugly, but it looks like it might help with the need to use significantly elevated iron sights and with holster design because the surfaces appear to be parallel with the slide and frame surfaces. It's also an interesting departure from most current suppressor design in that it appears to be off-axis rather than concentric to the bore.
