I bought a Winchester carbine M1 12-42 born on date, really nice looking, all the marks,
and a reblued barrel. thought I got a good deal. Until I went to the range.
After the first 15 rds the bolt started hanging up. Take it home and after taking it apart I
find a crack in the reciever where it had been welded.
Its going back to the gun store tomorrow.

Just got back from the gun shop. I got my money back, no problem. I would rather have a
good rifle. The search continues.
The crack was where the locking lug sets, on the operating rod side. You couldnt see any
weld unless it was field stripped. It didnt explode but the receiver was sprung, causing the
bolt to hang.
I'll try to find one at Knob Creek.
