Hello...a friend at work just bought a Mini 14 and has some questions.

1. What magazines are good and what mags not to get.

2. What ammo works the best (55gr ar 62gr)

Factory Ruger magsare best. PMI mags are decent. Congrads on the firearms purchase. WarDawg

Ruger or PMI magazines. EVERYTHING else is iffy.

They are around LOOK.

Factory and PMI are the two I use.

Well.. it's hard to say, from the start of production until 1985 the rifling twist rate was 1 in 10" , from 1986-1994 the rifling twist rate was 1 in 7" , from 1995 to the present the twist rate is 1 in 9".

You would need to know what your friend has to determine which ammo is "best".

So did you read the answers from the other thread you started that was exactly the same?

For mags, factory Rugers work, never tried the PMI.
As far as what rounds...find the twist rate of the gun. My father almost always shoots 55gr.
