My uncle just gave me his .22 Colt "The Colteer" semi auto .22lr rifle. I opened the action to find the most disgusting looking mess i've ever seen. I managed to get the rifle apart and clean, but now I have no idea how the Bolt and trigger group go back in. I just don't see how it fits. If anyone knows how to reassemble this rifle I'd really apreaciate it if ya could fill me in. Thanks.

Call Colt and ask if they have the manual for it. Many firearms manufacturers will send you one free or at a modest cost if for no other reason then safetys sake. Do NOT force anything!! You are better off waiting to get info rather then breaking anything. .22s are usually pretty fiddley, I usually just pull the action out of the stock, hose the whee out of the trigger group and chamber with brake cleaner, clean the bore with patches, clean the bolt, and put it back together. ReOil WELL because the brake cleaner will strip all the oil off of it.

Do not brake the charging handle. It is unavailable.
Colt will send you a copy of the manual. Patience pays.

Are you having trouble getting the recoil spring assembly in with the bolt??

Have one.  My first rifle. purchased back in the late sixties.

Yes, they are a bugger to get back together.  Insert the bolt handle/recoil spring assembly into the reciever.   Using a small screwdriver or similar tool push the handle back a ways.  Now carefully insert the bolt/trigger group assembly from the bottom.  You'll need to fiddle with the bolt handle to get it to set into the bolt.

Copious swearing doesn't help the process but does make one feel better.

Mine is in semi retirement do to difficulty in reassembling the damn thing.

Thanks guys. The thing I'm having trouble with is #7 in the diagram above. It is a seperate part and I have no idea where it fits into.

#7 is the ejector assy. Going by the pic I would say that it fits on the left side of the trigger housing in the front. Held in place with both of the #61 pins.

Maybe Ameshawki will chime back in & correct me if I am wrong but I'm pretty sure that is the way it goes.

Fits on the side of the trigger group assembly.  Its the piece that holds the bolt and trigger group together.  There should be a cut out that it fits right into.  It won't be a tight fit, the assembly will have some slop to it.  Once the ejector ties the bolt and trigger group together, begin to insert that assembly into the reciever, remember to pull the bolt handle back a ways so it will fit into the slot on top of the bolt.

And don't forget the profuse swearing.

The Colteer isn't the worst gun to take apart but its certainly in the top five.  I suspect that had something to do with its less than stellar success in the marketplace.
