thanks for the welcome. i'd like to build my first ar upper and like to learn from others experience. i have a 16 inch lightweight barrel colt upper now, no sup/comp/brake. i also have a 14.5 lightweight barrel with a standard birdcage. i'd like to FF a rifle length handguard with as little mods/cost as possible for practical/tactical shooting. is the flip up on the barrel different than putting it on the rails? i think the 14.5 will barely make it out the front of the rifle handguard, after having the current frontsight/gasblock tripped down. that's as far as i've gotten so far... t, n8 |
