Has anyone used the polymer 30rd mini14 mags made by promag? (they look just like the thermold mags) I finally found a place that sells factory ruger 20 rounders and I ordered 10 of them. Afterwards I was just surfing around and came across the polymer promags for 14.95 each. I ordered 2 just to try them out.

If they function good I'll buy some more just for range use and save my 20 rounders for a rainy day.

If you have tried them out, whats your opinion of them?

I was at a gunshow today and saw some of these mags for sell. Being as how I haven't received the ones I ordered yet I just couldn't wait and I purchased 3 of them. Now granted I only put about 150 rds through one of the mags but it functioned perfectly. The quality of this mag looks great.

The material seems to be almost identical to my AR15 thermold mags except for a few minor differences. Fist thing I noticed is that the Promag has a slight shine to it. The wall thickness is also thicker than that of the Thermold mags. The floorplate is wider at the base and also comes off similar to the glock floorplates instead of like the thermolds which hook on the back of the mag and swings up to latch on the front.

Also around the hole in the front of the mag  where it clips into the mini 14 receiver is even thicker than the rest of the magazine.

It would seem that Promag has built a quality aftermarket mag for the mini 14. Ofcourse only time will tell how well this mag will hold up over longterm use.

Does anyone else here have an opinion of them?
