Ok...I have a older Tasco Super Sniper. 16x, rear focus. I noticed that the turrets were mushy in the clicks. Hard to count and feel.

Checked over on SniperHide.com for info. Here is the fix-

Goto either a Home Depot, Lowes or a Ace Hardware. Look for-

O-rings

Danco#30

7/8" OD x 3/4" ID x 1/16"

I went and found mine at Ace Hardware, in the plumbing section. I just changed them out and what a difference. I can not only close my eyes and feel the clicks, I can hear them too.

Having never taken apart a scope before, and being this is my first decent scope, could someone fill me in on what I do with the O-rings? I assume that I have to remove the turrets somehow and replace an existing O-ring?

There are 3 set screws per turret. Loosen all three and pull the turret cap off-

Then cut or remove the old o-ring and put the new one on...re-install the turret cap-

Thanks Dog1. Did exactly as you described and it worked perfectly. Makes a huge difference in removing the "mushiness". Best 48 cents (cost of the two O-rings) I ever spent!

Not a problem...did you remember to push the turret cap all the way down? I forgot to tell you to do that...

It needs to be fully seated...it might not want to, but just twist it as you push down....

Does anyonr know a online retailer for o rings, I went to every hardware and plumbing store in my area and there all out.

Is there a fix for the soft, mushy BRASS knobs that get chewed up when you only tighten the turrets a normal amount so as to prevent slippage?

Or a fix for a wandering zero?

Yup. I made note of the exact positions of each knob before I removed it and made sure I put it back to where it was when I was done.
