Submachine-guns vs. SBRs vs. shotguns, for close quarters. What would you perfer and why. |

AR carbine in .223 Nothing shorter than a 14.5" barrel. Semi-auto is fine. The reason? 55 gr .223 rounds being fired from a 14.5" barrel will have sufficient terminal ballistics, without running the risk of over penetration. I'd probably prefer SA to FA, because the risk in a CQB situation is in sending errand shots in the direction of innocents. My $.02 |

Variety of factors will determine what I would take. General Purpose UMP40, MP5/10 or /40, or UMP45 (basically a H&K SMG that is not 9mm) Here's the things that will take me up to M4: possible distance shooting, possible bgs in heavy armor, not in an urban environment (like going tactical on some dude's trailer or cabin out in the boonies). The reason I'd stay with the SMG in most cases is due to the controlability and manouverablity. Though as I said there are factors that will get me to go M4. Shotgun is okay for CQB, but I'd feel better with a SMG. |
| I would prefer a platoon of marines armed with m4's and saw's to take care of the problem for me. If all else fails then the glock at the small of my back, the 4" folder clipped to the inside of my belt will get me to the truck where the mossy 500 is behind the seat, or the car where the plain old 20" ar15 a2 is waiting. Come to think of it if I can get back to the vehicles with the weapons then I can run away. |
