Hey Repub, Great choice I love mine . What kind of Reciever did you get IMI or Group Industries? For mags there are always ones for sale here on the EE. There is 7 IMI 25 rd mags. for $75 shipped on the boards at the moment . Mine likes the WWB 100 rd value pack ammo, the hirtenberger stuff and the NATO 124gr Winchester stuff. I wan't to try some S&B and some Wolf in it. It doesnt like UMC 9mm however . I would suggest you also get a barrel shroud for the long barrel . John Hoard makes them and they look great . They are for sale on the EE here. The gun pictured is my IMI Uzi . But I also bought one for my Vector and it looks the same. Here is the link: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=47&t=246527 Have fun with it. |

I have ordered these. They are in good used condition. I was satisfied with their description, but they are used. 3) CDNN Investments: www.cdnninvestments.com/uzi9mm32blum.html These Are Brand New Mecgar Contract Mags Made For The Israeli Military These are 32 round mags. You should definitely own a few of these. ETA: You should also get a couple of the shorter IMI 20 round mags. As always, stay far away from USA mags. |
I think the guy said a heat traeted group industries Is there much of a difference between the 2? |
|
Gun broker has some good deals, and SARCO has them for like $12 for the 25rds. The MECGAR 32rd IMI contract mags look good too, still searching for best price. Man that UZI looks good, I am still debating over going for the $5 Any Other Weapon or going the route you are. LOOKS GOOD. |
I dont think it would be worth the Wait, and not having a stock would get old shooting it like a pistol in semi. I just happened to call at the right moment and got one in stock, they are about 3-4 weeks out on them. As a bonus is they had my FFL on file so they are shipping it on Monday. I have shot a boat load of full auto uzi's at my range and I just fell in love with them. So I liad donw the cash to get one in semi. Hopefully one day I can get a Transferable. |
I think the guy said that the Bayonet was included, but not sure.. How is it mounted on a 16 in barrel? |
How do I get one in this configuration, SBR? That is sweet. |
|
Did you get the one off the EE ? Yeah the Group Industries have heat treated recievers. Not as collectable as the IMI but should last longer. I don't think you could wear out a IMI Uzi receiver but I guess anything is possible or could break. That is just what the reps at Vector told me. I own a IMI Model B so I figured I would get the GI reciever. Hey Merkava You will love the shroud !!!!!!!!!!!!! |
No, I ordered it directly from Vector.... |
1) You can either file a Form 1 like this-->quarterbore.com/library/pdf_files/shortbarreledriflefaq.pdf or, 2) Order an SBR from Vector and then have it transferred on a Form 4 from an in-state FFL/SOT (which is what I am doing--still waiting for the Form 4 to be approved by BATF). Either 1) or 2) will cost you an extra $200 Transfer Tax. or, 3) Hacksaw |
SWEET, i amagine you had to get a SBR Tax stamp? |
The poster you are refering to just posted right above yours that its is a dummy barrel. |
no need to cut the barrel www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=527500A&chrSuperSKU=527500&MC= |
As opposed to . . .? just buying an SBR from Vector? The SBR is the same price as the 16" barrel, so it would actually be cheaper to just buy an SBR because: 1) you would have to pay to have your receiver engraved with your name and 2) you would have to pay someone to cut down and re-crown your barrel. You pay $200 in taxes either way. The advantage of filing a Form 1 is that you get to actually shoot your rifle while waiting for the form to be approved as opposed to having it sit at the FFL/SOT. As far as the ports, I don't know, but you could ask this guy since he may do that kind of work: Mark McWillis www.trosusa.com 07 FFL/SOT PO Box 680 Clackamas, OR 97015-0680 503-358-3708 I'm going to have him put a 3 lug adaptor for a sound suppressor (silencer) on my 10" barrel once the Form 4 transfer goes through on my Uzi SBR from Vector. If you have Uzi questions, definitely check out www.uzitalk.com if you haven't already done so. |
How does that work? It's a shame I have to spend hours researching to get a gun in the free(?) world. I guess I should just be thankful it's a possibility. |
I meant that you can buy the 16" length and file the Form 1 following these directions-->quarterbore.com/library/pdf_files/shortbarreledriflefaq.pdf. Basically you fill out the Form 1, get the CLEO signature, and mail it in to BATF along with a check for $200. You can use a personal check and then see when they cash it. Once you get the Form 1 approved, you have to engrave the rifle receiver with your info and then get the barrel cut down. You can't use sub-machine gun barrels since they attach differently to the rifle. Voila! Now, if you do it this way, you can still shoot the gun while waiting for the approval as opposed to waiting for the Form 4 and not having the rifle to shoot. |
could you use the barrels in the link I provided? |
|
Dang I am confused, say I wanted to SBR an AR, I have the lower, I send in the Form 4 with the lower serial number, get the form approved, buy the SBR upper, place it on the lower. I don't have to engrave anything right? I haven't read anything that the receiver has to be engraved with my information. EDIT: Oh, form 1 is to Make, form 4 is to transfer, gotcha EDIT: But wait, you don't have to do a form 1 to make a SBR right? just a form 4 to make an SBR Dammit, is there a SBR FAQ somewhere? I am FUBAR EDIT: Found the FAQ in the M16 section ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You would need to send a Form 1 to make a SBR, you would have to engrave the manufacture of the SBR which would be you... Now if you were to buy a SBR directly from Vector it would come to your dealer via a form 4. |
|
One more thing to consider on the F4 vs. F1, most CIII dealers charge $50-$100 for a transfer, so figure that into your final price. 10" SMG barrels can be used, but they have to be turned down to fit through the restrictor ring and trunnion. Also, SBR's are not subject to the parts count crap, you can use all the foreign parts you want. |
just what US parts does Vector use in the Uzis? |
I had only posted this-->quarterbore.com/library/pdf_files/shortbarreledriflefaq.pdf twice already in this thread. |
Excellent point. |
I know what you mean, but how is that any different from having a amd65 kit and a receiver at your house or something alike? I could be building a Uzi or AMD pistol. |
Good point. If you've already filed your Form 1 though, you're already announcing your intent to make an SBR. So getting the 10" barrel earlier would be shooting yourself in the foot if the one-in-a-million chance they happened to find you in possession of the barrel and rifle. |
for sure, I guess you just have to CYA and be patient. |
| FYI , we offer new Vector Arms IMI UZI'S to AR15.COM members $559 in both 9mm & .45 .Thank You Atlantic Firearms, llc WWW.ATLANTICFIREARMS.COM |
