| What are your thoughts on the Springfield Operator Pistols... I just purchased one and am wondering how they stack up against other 1911s. What kind of work should I have done to this gun to make it better? |
| I'd imagine it's the TRP. That's the most famed one. You might check over in the handgun section. Way too many 1911 freaks over there not to give you hundreds of answers. Never shot one but the Operators (MC and the TRP) look like true champions next to most other 1911's. But check the handgun form out. Good luck and post some pics of it ASAP. |
About all I can suggest is a match barrel, fitted by a good gunsmith. Maybe night sights if it didn't come with them. Damn good guns, IMO. |
| I have a Springfield 1911 that is several years old. I got it before Sprinfield started adding all the bells and whisles. The gun is stock except for Novak sights, beaver tail safety and a trigger job. Extremely reliable with factory loads and reasonably accurate. I would think the Operator model would work just as well. |
