I am looking to add the venerable Winchester Model 94 to my collection. While it is unlikely this will be actually used much- although occasionally it will- I would like to know which model is considered the standard in 94's. Is it the 20", the 24" or the 16"? And I assume the 30-30 is also standard in claiber. While on the subject, what exactly changed in 1963 (I think, maybe it is '64) as many lever guns are referenced by a pre '63 or post '63 designation? Thanks in advance redfisher |

go 30-30...20inch barrel.. get an XTR..but one without the a safety. without a doubt one of the best gun/cartridge combos ever devised... 30-30 ammo isnt that expensive...and will take down anything you shoot... i shoot a couple of 94's religously...a 30-30 and a .444. my favs out of 3 safes full... |
