OK, I give...Is there a certain way to install a RAS?

The top RAS does not fit over the delta rings hair
Would appreciate it if anyone know the trick to seat the top RAS withoug resorting to the ol' hammer.hanks

Take the screw all the way out - remove it. Then let the latch lever swing down under the edge of the barrel nut. Re-install screw. Done!  


I bet you merely loosened the screw, right?
