Has anyone ever herd of a P-90 FN. I am just curious to see if anyone has one or knows if it is legal to buy them. http://www.cmmginc.com/cmmg_images/tbl_images/Receivers%20Firearms/FN_P90_Triple_Rail_Can.jpg

Hopefully the link is now hot.

Yep - now hot.  If that thing on the front is a real sound suppressor there's some paper work and BATF approval that will need to be done before it will be legal.  Barrel may also need approval as it is too short - IF that thing is a rifle.

I'll just never understand why it's almost always someone with a very low post count that brings this garbage in here.

'If' YOU are legal and want good legal answers haul this thing to the Legal Forum and post there.  Sure I could look it up and tell you what that thing is but I strongly suspect you already know.

FOX- huh..............well, you may be the FOX (BATF/FBI or ???) but you still ain't found the henhouse.

Yes it IS legal to possess one, but its a post-dealer sample machinegun SO...

you need to be a LEO or US military and you only possess it in the course of duty; you don't own it.

OR...

you need to be an FFL/SOT.  And not just as a hobby (c'mon, we've all seen the after-school special on felony tax evasion, haven't we?).  You'll also need a demo request from a bonafide LE agency.  And of course, you'll only own it until you relinquish or lose your license; then you lose the weapon.

BTW - got any idea how much 5.7x28 costs?  Last I checked, it was in the $1/rd range.  Don't know about you, but at that price I'd rather be shooting .50  And lets not forget, because the 5.7x28 is AP and there is a handgun chambered for it, you'll also need the FFL to buy ammo.

The supressor, however, is completely legal to own...IF you live in a state that allows supressors and you aren't a person legally prohibited from owning a firearm or NFA weapon.  FWIW, I think the one in the picture is a Gemtech can.  They don't list it on their website, but check out the page for their .22 can the 'Hornet' under centerfire rifle supressors www.gem-tech.com

Fox, I got to shoot one of CMMG's P90s at the last Missouri shoot. They are very cool, very controllable, good rate of fire.  Sure eats through a 50 round mag real quick though.

Here is a video I took of John Overstreet of CMMG running the course of fire with the P90.  Right click, save target as... to save it to your harddrive.

CMMG are on the AR15 boards on a daily basis, find one of their posts and IM them if you have any specific questions.  It has taken months of paperwork and alot of tax money for them to be able to possess such things but in America you can do almost anything if you have enough money and ambition and you've figured out which form to fill out.
