When the 260 rem first came out manufacturers offered heavy barreled rifles but I can't seem to find on that still offers them. does anyone have a source for such a rifle.

Have you tried Remington? Otherwise you might have to have one rebarrelled with an aftermarket barrel?

Is it just a straight forward barrel change or does the bolt face need to be altered?

I think it is based on the .308 round so you shouldn't have any problems. You are thinking of the 6.5 X 55 Swedish Mauser that has a non standard rim size.

Great round, faster and flatter than a 308. E-mail sent on a possible gun for sale.
