Watching kids chase soap bubbles in the park.

Seeing the fun a kid can have with just an old empty box.

Sitting around a campfire telling Ghost stories.

The children sat around the fire
huddled together in fear,
as the old man told tales of ghosts.

And deep,
in their wide eyes,
I saw a smile sparkle.

I remember going to the rifle range in the cold wet mornings with my Father. The sun just a fuzzy glow in the sky, shrouded by clouds. Shooting my .22 rim fire at a target 50 yards away, partly obscured by the misy morning from fog. The smell of burnt gunpowder mixing with the damp air. Then going home and eating warm lunch of soup and hot dogs and chatting with my dad.
