seen some sks's with the rear sling swivel on the left side of the stock,some on the bottom of the stock,why the difference ? thanks jwr

Germans liked to use the side stock mounted swivels(Mausers). The Russians also liked it.

The Chinese & Yugos use the American type. I prefer the side mounted swivels myself.
