I bought a Cetme a few months ago. While I don't doubt the Cetme was a decent military rifle and has a very rich history, the one I bought is remanufactured by Century and has lousy cast parts in the fire control group. My rifle broke the sear after clearing a jam at about 400 rounds. Pretty disappointing. I hesitate to send it back to Century as I don't like cast parts in rifles. Real machined parts are available (Centerfire Systems, $16.95 for a repair parts kit) but I suspect they are original (Spanish?) parts and would make the weapon illegal (not meeting the minimum US manufactured parts count BS), and perhaps full auto (big time trouble!). So my Cetme sits disassembled while I figure out what to do with it. Any suggestions? |

Okay, guys I will have my lawyer contact you after they put me in the slammer for possession of an "illegal weapon". Just kidding. I really have little choice but to go to the original (good) part. My mistake was buying the Certury bastardized weapon in the first place. I have seen it here before and I will repeat it here. NO CAST PARTS! NO CAST PARTS! The lure of an inexpensive weapon often has it's pitfalls! Thanks for the advice guys! |
