I'm thinking of getting one, what do you guys think is the most bang-for-buck and why. Since I'm in NJ, it has to be post-ban FAL only. Tony |

DSA StG58 FAL is about $780 dealer cost plus shipping. www.dsarms.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=STG58T2&storeid=1&image=AusFALR.gif Unless you build your own, nothing comes close in my opinion. |
| I second raf's recommendation for the DSArms STG58. I have one. You get a top notch DSA forged receiver built to spec. off Steyr blueprints. Most of the rest is built on an excellent surplus Austrian rifle originally built by Steyr including a coveted hammer forged barrel. Steyr built the cream of FALs. I would rather have a Steyr re-build than one of DSAs all new guns, and it's less money to boot. All for about $900. If you want cheap but OK, build your own with a $129 Brazilian IMBEL surplus rifle from Dan's Sporting Goods, on an Enterprize or IMBEL receiver (~$240), plus other needed parts, and paint it. |

The only other options I know of are 1-preban (I have not seen a lot around) 2-Century (lotsa guys seem to have luck with them, some of them just don't work) 3-IAI (similar to #2) 4-Buy receiver and have gunsmith build one. I've thought about all of these and have decided that I will just wait and eventually get a DSA. |
I bought a DSA SA-58 Carbine for $25 over dealer cost, $1225, and I ended up sending it back to DSA to be fixed. I had problems feeding and ejecting. Now I'm waiting for them to fix it. Guess I should have gone with Century. |

DSA is absolutely the best factory post ban you can buy. Otherwise, www.azexarms.com/fnfal.html IMHO. |
DSA called telling me they fixed my gun, saying it fires correctly now. I hope so. I mailed the gun last week, so DSA customer service is quite speedy. |
