[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Front sight removal.

When you remove the front sight can the pins be reused to reinstall it? I have a RRA 9mm upper and a Oly midlength FIRSH that should be here today and need to know if I need new pins. The pins didnt look like roll pins and I think they could be reused. Opinions?

Hi,
those are Steel taper pins, drive out from the small to the large end, dress the small end if necessary if they get banged up, and re-use them.

You'll probably need to give those pins some pretty solid whacks, so I recommend using a tapered "nail set" type punch instead of a cylindrical punch, which will probably bend on you. You should be able to reuse the taper pins, no problem.
