Ok, so i am guilty of constantly checking, unloading, loading, cleaning my AR...

but i have found that when using SA ammo, if I chamber the same round more than once, for example, take the mag out empty the chamber, clean the gun, put the round back in the mag and try to chamber again, the round often hangs on the feedramp.

Is this common?  Is this a result of the round getting deformed or is there something wrong with my rifle?

comments/suggestions

Thanks

What kind of mags are you using?  Most feeding problems are the result of bad mags or bad ammo.

Also, are you pulling back the charging handle and letting go (correct way of doing it), or are you riding it forward (incorrect)?

It's conceivable that the ammo could be getting deformed, but not very likely, particularly with factory crimped ammo.

Using all USGI colt and Okay mags.  I pull the charging handle back and let it go, or I can lock it back and release the bolt,  either way it sometimes jams.  Im using South African ammo from battle packs.  Fresh ammo wont do it, but ammo with the nose of the bullet slightly deformed jams up.
