What type of rifle is the sniper using, when he is hunting the Co-pilot/Navigator? I thought it was a SV-98? but I think I'm wrong.

It was a British Accuracy International, can't tell what caliber it was, so don't know the designation. Probably an AW or a SM.

Incorrect.

It was a SIG-Sauer SSG 3000.

BTW, all top snipers run around in Adidas jogging suits, didn't ya know?

The movie scared me away just looking at the ads for it.  I'm burned out on action flicks with big explosions.  Windtalkers looked pretty sucky too.

Given the high quality of recent WWII stories put on film (Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers)....Windtalkers sucked in everyway imaginable....

As far as the jogging suit is concerned, remember that one can do anything better while wearing a costume.  Bikers ride faster, joggers run faster, snipers shoot better.

I have an idea!  Let's make a movie!  Hire a bunch of historical and cultural experts, get technical experts to train the actors, then totally not listen to them and have an 8 year old write and direct the darn thing!  Lots of CG and explosions will make up for lack of story and shallow characters.

You sure? Looked a whole lot like a AW when he was shooting it rapid fire, when the copilot was sliding down the hill/concrete thing.

I liked it how the SAM could follow the F/A-18 for 15 miles through S-turns, loops, and ignore the chaff and flare. I want one of those!

I think it is a SIG. Y'all were right.

But what good does your costume do you against a guy in a better costume?

The director is a gun/history nut, he said on the alternate audio track that it's an SSG3000.

Personally I would have used the bipod and set the sniper rifle down on the rock right in front of me and popped the good guy off the dam and made it home for lunch.

I guess shooting off hand and missing made for a better movie, though...

Edited to add-thinking about that movie,I take that back, it would have been better that way.

ROFL!!!

Band of Brothers is really good, though. Explosion aren't all flame, but more dust and dirt like they're suppossed to be.
And Windtalkers... let's never mention it again.

how 'bout when our buddy Owen is running down the opposite side of the hill, but the shots are still going past his head?

And I LOVED band of brothers when it was on HBO, and I just got the DVD set for my birtday. I'm 16!

I fell outta the chair laughing at that one.

"Wow!  Look at the trajectory on those things!"

You must remove the "http://" and there cannot be any spaces between the URL and the tags.  And the URL must be pointing to a picture (GIF or JPEG), not an HTML file.

Good:

{img}www.server.com/picture.jpg{/img}

Bad:

{url}www.server.com/picture.jpg{/url} (This makes a link, but does not display the image)
{img}"http://" www.server.com/picture.jpg{/img} (http://)
{img} www.server.com/picture.jpg {/img} (Spaces)
{img}www.server.com/picture.html{/img} (HTML instead of JPG or GIF)

And, yes, obviously replace the {} with [].

It started sucking right from the start.
I walked out when they were eating in that chow hall on the ship.
Damn, I was on one of the newest Carriers that Uncle Sam has and I walked all over that boat looking for that chow hall.
Never did find it, and darn the bad luck, I missed the rest of that movie.

I like the way they are able to track the American by picking discarded AK mags. Yeah, there aren't any of those laying around those EuroSlav countries.
