[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Quick ammo question

I ordered some tracer ammo from a company.
7.62 x 39 orange tip tracer.
Only problem is there is no orange tip on it.

Looks like regular russian ammo to me.
Markings on the box say this:
HP L. C. B.
Nothing on the box that says tracer.
Did the order get screwed up.
I've heard that some tracer ammo has no painted tip,
but its the magnesium that is the tracer.
Looks like plain copper FMJ to me.

Any thoughts from you guys ?

Thanks, but I'd like to know before I go to the
Hun farm shootout this weekend so I have a chance to
straighten out the order.

hey legs...you dont have anywhere close to try one round?.,..ive never heard of unpainted tracer ammo. id definetely go try one round to see what it is.

Legs, pull one of the bullets and look at the base. If its a tracer the base will be filled in with a tracing compound. If its a regular round you should see lead....ECS

Ok, I pulled it and it is a tracer.
Just no orange or red tip.
Thats what threw me. I had called the guy and
left a message and I just talked to him as well.
So I guess I'm good to go.

I post some pic's again of the night time activities.
I have a 75 round drum that I'm gonna bump fire
at night with every 2 or 3 rounds a tracer round.
