any one have any links or experiene with a good mount? All is seem to be able to find are the ones for the cover. They dont seem really stable. thanks lojack |
| Well my sar-2 has a scope mount on the left side of the reciever. It is a rail that the scope mount slides over. It came on my gun so I'm not sure where to find one but if you ask over on the AK board i'm sure Campybob or someone else can point you in the right direction. |

I've heard people give the Ultimak mount good reviews. Brought one for my SAR-1, just been too lazy to mount it yet. Reviewers have said they keep their zero as long as you don't remove them, and they are clamped onto the barrel so they don't shift around at all. www.ultimak.com

No prob, guncrazy. Sorry lojack for the first link. I must not have comprehended your full thread. Doh! I would definitely go throught Tantal. Your AK should have the side rail. If not, pick one up and also pick up one of those mounts. That's about as stable as your gonna find anywhere. For a price list of all those products, just email tantal at [email protected].  i'm currently using the belarussian elcan...the 'po' 3.5x x 21mm day optic on my ak-74. the field of view has to be seen to be believed. like all russian military glass it is bombproof and bright/crisp. see tantal's website tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/ or nightvisionweb www.nightvisionweb.com/images/po_35x21.jpg for glass and mounts. i heartily recommend tantal as the most knowledable russian optic expert in the country. he can spec you the equipment to best suit your needs. |
