I was wondering if there are any quiet subsonic .223 loads that you could shoot in the backyard. I guess a subsonic .22 LR would be the only choice, but just wondering if there was any .223 rounds out there, or if they could be handloaded. I'm sure they wouldn't operate the action, and could only be used as single shot. I'd just like to have something quiet to shoot out the back door, without a silencer. Keep on a shootin' Edge |
| Without using a suppressor, you will still have the muzzle blast; sub-sonic ammo only eliminates the ballistic crack. EBR manufactures sub-sonic .223 ammunition, but I don't see much use in it. You could use a suppressed .22 with some of the 60grn SSS rounds and get better performance than the .223 sub-sonic rounds |
