Hope you guys don't mind an AK47 question here. I purchased a pre-ban AK with an installed slanted muzzle break. Looks like it was turned too far. How do I remove it? Does it unscrew ccw? Is there any detent catch I have to engage before turning? etc? |
If you have a pre ban AK, then most likely it's threaded barrel; therefore, the slanted muzzle break is just screwed on, not welded. The break will sit in an angle between 4 and 5 o'clock, I think. There should be a spring notch at 12 o'clock (usually) and you press it down completely before turning it. If this is the case, leave it alone. HTH |

1 o'clock fron the shooter's perspective, yes. Open end at about 1 o'clock. To remove, press in small cylindrical plunger at sight base (12 o'clock) and rotate comp. Should only be hand tight. Use penetrating oil inside and out if not easily turned. Tools come later, and ONLY if needed. Give the oil a few days to work. |
