How important is a broken shell extractor to a set of bench tools/range bag/bob?

Anyone have experience with any of them?  they work?

Looking at buying the 5.56 and 7.62x51 tools from TAPCO.  $5 for the 5.56 and $10 for the 7.62.

TIA

They are totally, completely, utterly useless--until you need one.  When you have a case break, where the base/rim is ejected, leaving the front 2/3rds in the chamber, you are screwed--until you locate/use a broken shell extractor.  It is quite rare, but when it happens you need one to put the rifle back in service.  I have .223, 7.62X39 and .30--still need .50 BMG.  Incidently, I have never had to use any of them.  They do work, or so I'm told.

Thanks, TBK.  Sounds like cheap insurance to me.  Gonna get em.
