Just got a rem700 for my birthday! My brother hooked me up with his mint condition VLS in .308. He never shoots it so he gave it to a GOOD home. Since I got it (Sunday) I have, put my Leupold M1 3.5-10x40 LRT scope on it with some Leupold 30mm rings I had laying around. (he already had Burris bases installed) Adjusted the trigger to a nice crisp 2-3 lbs and bedded the action at about a 2 degree angle to get the barrel to free float. No time to get to the range and shoot this baby yet but when I do, you will be the first ones to know. |
Your not missing much. I have a mildot and only the very center cross hair is illumated. NONE of the mildots are illuminated. Mine was the same price with or without the illumination so I got the illuminated reticle. I certainly hope that illuminates the situation for you.

OK, I am a believer! Remingtons kick ASS! Just got back from the range. I sighted in with some Hirtenburger and then shot two, five shot groups (100 yards) with some Hornady TAP 168gr ammo (thanks GI Brat!) I am impressed since I was shooting off of a shakey bench, a harris bipod and a rear bag. |
