I was recently told about a pre-ban Springfield Armory AR-15 clone in collapsable carbine configuration. I was un-aware that SA ever manufactured an AR. If this is so, does anyone have any experience w/ them? Quality, parts interchangability, & current ballpark value are issues I am interested in. Thanks in advance - GCF |
| Springfield Armory of Geneseo, IL made AR-15 type rifles during the early 80's. They were offered with optional walnut A1 stocks. I saw a few at gun shows back then and they looked pretty nice. The last thing I heard was that they got into trouble (with Colt?) and pulled the plug - possible patent infringement? I don't know. I don't remember the carbine version, but its been a long time. |
Hey Colt Shorty - Thanks for the pic!! Made a believer out of some of us, I'm sure. What in your opinion, would one of these babies be worth - w/ or w/ out the wood? Collector or shooter? Thanks in advance - GCF |
