I've got a P229 40S&W. Utterly reliable. Over 5000rds. through it and it has stove-piped four or five times, which may have been my fault. Had a P220 and a P245 that performed flawlessly. SIG P series guns get a major A+ in the performance department.The decocker and the lack of a safety to operate are also nice features. Got into 1911s and grew dissatisfied with the SIG double action trigger. Personal preference. The doink thing (SIG dry fire sound) was just a joke. |
 Bought it in Germany in 1990. It's now got over 42,000 rounds through it. 1. I replaced the barrel with a Bar-Sto barrel in 1995. 2. I added Hogue grips in 1997 (excellent replacement grips for the stock plastic). 3. I had it refinished by Mac's GunKote in 2001. Of all that pistols I've every had (Beretta 92FS, Glock 22, SA 1911A1 SS, Taurus PT908, etc, etc, etc), this gun is the most reliable firearm I've ever owned or fired, BAR NONE. I would highly recommend it to ANYONE. |
