| I looked at one today the big 5 special for $180 and I think I am going to get it, but had a question can you safley leave it loaded for a long period of time and what happens if you drop it on the exposed hammers? |

Most modern weapons have a hammer block. If the trigger is not in the full pull position it will not fire. Take the weapon and pull the trigger while holding the hammer. Let go of the trigger and slowly lower the hammer. If it has a hammer block, it will not engage the firing pin. I hope this helps. |
| I was interested in buying a cheap Russian coach gun a couple years ago. Then, I got a chance to fire one. The gun didn't break open real smooth, the triggers were incredibly heavy, and the latch to open/ close it would not always lock. It was novel, but not really convenient. |

You're putting bad thoughts in my head. I checked out a new gunstore today (neat stuff-the only ar type rifles-I don't have one yet- were Aramalite Ar10's and DPMS I think were the .223 ones) anyway they had one of those shorty Stoeger coach guns, asking $ 250 ish I think (maybe it was more) neat looking little gun, I was kind of tempted because you brought it up. Oh I could see that several of the guys who worked there were carrying concealed (they probably all were) but there was a really nice lady, very friendly and professionally dresssed, working the cash register, probably about 60-who had a Browning hi power on a gun belt over her dress-he he. They were a little expensive, but I might buy something from these guys just on principle. |
