Can it be done. I have a revolver that was parkerized many years ago. I'd like to return it to blue. Any chance this could be done?

Steel wool and a driveway.

But seriously, doesn't Naval Jelly remove it?

Edit: I'm thinking of something else. I think the answer you're looking for is media blasting.

Various acids will strip parkerizing, as will some other chemicals.

I know that "rustfree" sold by Boeshield will remove parkerizing, it's an acid-based metal cleaner. http://boeshield.com/catalog/ Most any acid-based rust remover will do the same I would think.

Soaking in ProShot copper remover IV stripped the parkerizing from a flash suppressor, but took a long time (couple weeks).
