I need to touch up the back of the frame on my ruger mkiii...somehow my hand has worn most of the bluing off. I have tried the Birchwood casey perma boue but it doesn't stay on good at all. I was looking at the Brownells Oxpho blue, has anyone used this? Any other good cold blue solutions?

Ive used Oxpho. It's pretty good. Probably wont match the deep black on a ruger. Black Magic is great for AR FSB's. I think for a Ruger Mk2 I would probably lean toward stripping it down and cerakoting it.

I don't really care about matching(its on the backstrap), I just want soemthing to protect the metal.

ETA:  The black magic looks like it would be good.
