I've never had a rifle done in Cerakote Kryptek Pattern and just received the parts back from the Cerakoter.  It looks great but the finish seems just crazy delicate...especially for a firearms finish.  I taped up around the bolt catch with blue painters tape, to protect the finish while I tap in the bolt catch pin, and the blue painters tape seems to take that Kryptek pattern right off.

I'm trying to determine whether the finish is just THAT delicate and I need to be ultra careful?  Whether its safe with CLP?  or whether the business that did the work perhaps made a mistake or missed a step or something and it wasn't applied properly?  I just need to know whether the business that did this messed up or whether its my own fault and I just don't know enough about the finish to have a reasonable expectation.

Thanks!

Painters tape should never pull off Cerakote.
Unless it was applied improperly.

Ive put cerakoted parts in aircraft paint stripper and it had no effect on the cerakote.

Thanks guys.  That's what I needed to know.

So far, the Cerakoter appears as if they made an honest mistake and are going to make this right.  They're sending me a return shipping label for the parts.  So, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that the second time around goes better.

Thanks for the help :)
