So I want to cerakote my rail on my AR to basically match the color of the DD RIS II rail. Not I like the color of the rail but that's about it. What color is the RIS II looks like more of a deep deep burnt bronze that anything but I can't figure it out. Any specific color mixture you all have done to possibly do this before or maybe some suggestions?

If you want a perfect match. Cerakote the rail as well.

This is the only true way.  As far as a color match Duracoat makes a "Daniel Defense FDE" that is supposed to be close to the rail color.

Joint Force dark bronze.

You don't have a Cerakote problem, you have a problem with being able to match colors with some non-Cerakoted object.

^^ This. I think RIS II was annodized not cerakoted, so you won't be able to find a match unless you mix the color to match the color of the RIS II.

Yep.  Color matching Cerakote against Cerakote isn't the easiest thing,  color matching against ano? Good luck.

You could always send your upper and lower to get anodized in Type III FDE.

Too bad US Anodizing isn't really taking anymore orders except for black and gray anodizing on a case by case basis right now.

They did a fantastic job anodizing some parts for me in Type III FDE and the color matches my DD RIS II FDE rails

we cerakote every day. You will have to mix burnt bronze with another color to match it. Even then it may not be a perfect match.

KG Gunkote has a new paint out that mimics anodizing. They have an FDE color of that paint, but I believe it might look similar to the special edition Colt 6920s

I looked at the duracoat DD dark earth color but that looks red.

I'm a factory certified Cerakote applicator and Patriot brown is just about as close as you are going to get. They just came out with a new color, Austrian FDE which is also very close.

I wanted to do the same to one of my rails. I actually ended up using a Duracoat Aerosol DD fde and it came out great. Will post up some pics when I get back in town / home. I was skeptical at first but as long as your clean and prep it good and use very light coats, it does great
