What color gets the closest to Magpul Flat Dark Earth?  Wanting to paint my AR, and that is my base for the furniture.  Thanks!!!

I was told Coyote Brown is the best...I haven't tried it yet, but if the cap is any indication, I think it will be perfect.

Yep I've used Aervoe Coyote and it's the closest to Magpul FDE that I've found in an aerosol.

Aervoe Coyote is the closest that Aervoe offers....but in my opinion it was too pink. I stripped it and ended up using Aervoe Field Drab which is a dead nuts match for KAC taupe.

AERVOE field drab is the best base coat IMO. I love it. Paint most of my rifles that way.

Can you guys get into detail as far as the painting process goes? Other than a thorough cleaning is there any other prep needed before spraying the receivers? Is there any other top coating that goes over the paint? Did you guys just spray out of the can or did you guys use the spray kit available from aervoe? How many cans are needed for upper/lower receiver? How durable is the paint?

Just did one yesterday day in field drab, love the color already.

Other than a good cleaning I just made sure the parts and paint were warm (painted outside in below freezing temperatures yesterday).
Didn't use a clear coat, don't see the need for it.
I used the can, DSG and Brownells carries it. One can is pleanty for a couple rifles at least.

Think that covered all your questions?
