I really like the two tone look, but I've been itching to do a camo finish.

@AZgunnerLEO if you haven't already painted it, I'd recommend taking the grip off if its rubberized. I don't think the paint will adhere well. I just put an A2 grip on them when I do mine. That and don't forget to stick a mag in it, you'll have one that matches and it will keep paint out of the inside of the gun. Other than that I just tape the FH and spray away.

So how addictive does this rattle can camo get?  Here's my first one, already thinking about what to paint next.  Used the sponge method with a Krylon camo set plus some flat grey primer, and a matte clear coat.

Started to rain so couldn’t finish.  Had some overspray with the beige, but I’m ok with it so far.  Planning to mist some dark green over everything once completed in order to darken it some:

I recommend against that. Darkening defeats the whole purpose of camo. The lighter the better.

Gonna guess "not real gun".

But awesome paint job!

The original paint job on this is probably about 9-10 years old.  As I've added components and reconfigured things I've had to add paint, try and match it, or said hell with it and left it as is.

Went back at it with a cargo net for a more distinct pattern.  Still mostly green since I'm in the jungles of Central Florida.

Not a whole rifle yet, but I got an un-coated barrel for $30 and needed to keep it from rusting so I figured header paint would be the best choice.

Baked it at 250f for 30min, pretty happy with how it came out. I'm going to be comparing this against an 18" build I also threw together, and probably only keeping one, which at that point will get rattle-canned in full.

More true than expected. Already getting my 2nd rifle prepped to paint. The only one I will not paint is my M16A2 clone.
